Ambassador of Russia to the Netherlands Alexander Shulgin met with students of Leiden University

On November 7 last Ambassador of  Russia to the Netherlands Alexander V. Shulgin met in the Hague with students of Leiden University.

In his address to the audience Alexander V. Shulgin dwelled on the state of play in the Russian-Dutch bilateral cooperation. He also gave an overview of the international relations. The Ambassador emphasized that the falsification of history is inadmissible, as well as degrading the role of the Soviet Union in the fight against Nazi Germany.

The Ambassador also answered numerous questions from the audience. In particular, the students were interested in the attitude of Russia towards sanctions pressure of the West, in our perception of ongoing investigation of the downing of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 over Ukraine in 2014, in the prospects for a settlement in the South-East of Ukraine, in treatment in Russia of representatives of untraditional sexual orientation, the future of business cooperation between Russia and the Netherlands, and EU - Russian interaction in general, etc.

The students requested Ambassador to continue practice of such meetings on a regular basis in future.
