Reception at the Russian Embassy in the Netherlands May 7, 2025

On May 7, the Russian Embassy in the Netherlands hosted a reception dedicated to Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Heads of diplomatic missions, senior officials of international organizations, compatriots, and representatives of the Dutch public attended the event.

In his address to the audience, Russian Ambassador to the Netherlands H.E. Mr. V. Tarabrin emphasized that the Great Patriotic War was a battle not for resources or influence, but for the very survival of the people and the right to the future. We insist on recognizing the activities of the Nazis as genocide against the people of the USSR.

“We are grateful to our Allies for their support, but the decisive role in defeating the Third Reich was played by the Red Army. It’s a historical truth no matter that anyone tries to claim,” the ambassador said.

Today we see Nazism reviving in Europe. In Ukraine, the ideology of hatred is flourishing. As in 1945, it will end when the goals of the Special Military Operation are achieved.

Pupils from the Embassy school performed a festive concert for the guests.
